July - August (summer)

July through August are ideal to visit in terms of weather. During this period, the country experiences beautiful temperatures, although it can get hot, it is often interrupted by rain showers or thunderstorms. Visitors flock to Liechtenstein to enjoy the wildflowers growing all across the valley. The snow thaws during this season, even in the higher passes, so you will be able to hike a large area of trails.

Average temperatures this time of year are typically in the low 80s° F. Some highlights in the summer months are the beautiful and expansive hiking trails and outdoor adventures such as mountain biking and nature trails. The summer also offers a variety of festivals.

Events and Festivals

- Film Festival Vaduz: For two weeks in July, Vaduz turns on the charm when it hosts its annual film festival. Flicks from around Liechtenstein, Europe, and other parts of the globe are screened, mostly in beautiful open air cinemas around the capital.

- National Day of Liechtenstein: Held on August 15, National Day of Liechtenstein is celebrated across the country. Musical events, parades, dance performances, games, and traditional cuisine are the center of attention until 10:00 p.m. when fireworks light up the sky near Vaduz Castle.

- Liechtenstein Guitar Days: This weeklong festival held in July, brings the best guitar players from around the country and Europe to Eschen. An international competition is what attracts the most visitors, but there are also plenty of workshops and concerts.
